He’s back…again.

As a childhood fan of Brett Favre I can not begin to express my excitement about his newly inked one year deal with the Vikings but, if you’d like to see me try.  Look to the right at my twitter or just search that #brettfavrecan hashtag.  Yep…that’s what I’m doing all day…everyday…until opening day.

Lesson of the day: #brettfavrecan go to the Hall of Fame while he’s still playing.

Throwback Thursday: MTV’s Undressed

This show was so ahead of it’s time it’s not even fair. I recall staying up late to catch MTV’s Undressed at around midnight when I was in grade school and high school because the show was just that damn good. It did it’s best to portray every type of relationship possible and in my opinion they did a pretty damn good job (6 seasons worth of a damn good job). And inevitably someone always got undressed.

Watch all six seasons of my 2nd favorite scripted MTV show here. (I think I’ll post my first next week)

Lesson of the day: Adam Brody did undressed before the OC was even a drunk thought at an over-priced club on Sunset.

The Slowest Wednesday Ever…

I read the (entertainment) news.  Alot.  And I hate to say it but, today I haven’t found anything particularly newsworthy enough to cover.  I’m not into gossip and/or really sensationalized or over-covered stories (Kate Goselin sit down).  I don’t care that Kate Hudson is probably poking holes in A-rod’s condoms as we speak.  And as much as I like Drake and Songz on “Successful” no one has done a good job at a “making of” video since MTV’s show Making the Video.  It’s actually one thing on a long list of things I wish MTV still had around but, I digress.  So…if you came here looking for coverage on any of those things today I am happy to disappoint you and leave you with this classic to enjoy while you google search the topics above.

Lesson of the day: Brownie points to anyone who guessed the video just from the picture.

Where the Wild Things Are…the trailer of a childhood

This trailer visualizes just about everything that grabbed me about the book as a child.

Lesson of the day: Remember when Spike did music videos???

FRAGGLE ROCK! THE MOVIE! FOR THE WIN!

If you are in 20-30 year old age range I can just about guarantee that you saw the post title and the picture and immediately became excited.  According to one of my favorite sites, FirstShowing.net, the Jim Henson company is back up and running and the Fraggle Rock Movie that was shelved years ago is back on the slate and inches away from pre-production stages.

Here’s the highlight from Brian Henson’s (Jim Henson’s son) talk with MTV’s Adam Rosenberg:

First up, the Fraggle Rock movie is “still in very active development. Very active development. That has a very strong script.” He also adds: “It’ll have a strong musical component. It’ll be expanded to an older audience. Fraggle Rock [the TV show] was presented… for a pretty exclusively children’s audience. The feature film does expand it to be more accessible to a wider audience.”

And here is one of the best opening songs of all time:

Lesson of the day: Dance your cares away, worry’s for another day. Let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock.

Bonus Throwback: WMAC Masters

So I’ve spent a nice, lazy saturday (lazy other than cleaning the garage) watching the Ninja Warrior marathon on G4. I haven’t watched the show in a while and I’m enjoying it way more than the knock-off, slapstick, American version (read: Wipeout). In any event, it made me remember WMAC Masters. If you don’t remember this show I understand because it was only on tv for one season (1995-1996). However, anyone who has seen this show loved the martial arts version of the WWF (no wildlife). Not to mention it was hosted by Shannon Lee (yes, relation). You’d have to physically try not to enjoy this clip:

Lesson of the day: This could be a start to regularly posting throwbacks on the weekends.
